Car history:
This 1969 model features the return of the Stingray nameplate appearing on the front fenders as well as the moving of the ignition to the column from the dash, a design change for how the door handles operated and integrating the reverse lights into the tail lights. Moving onto this particular example; the Can-Am white paint, which is original to the car, has seen better days but is still in a very presentable condition, there are cracks and chips throughout the paint. The exterior trim in good shape overall, with only some very light surface scratches on the brightwork, as well as some pitting on the door handles. The interior on this car is all original and still in a very respectable condition, the only major issue to note is some wear on the driver side bolster. The convertible top on the car is in fantastic shape, there are two small blemishes on the top itself as well as some yellowing of the rear window. Mechanically the car is powered by a 5.7 liter small block Chevy V8 that produces 300 horsepower, which produces a fantastic exhaust note. This particular example runs and drives as most 46-year-old cars do, needing some TLC. The aftermarket Cragar Wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle ST's, both the wheels and tires are in good shape with no issues to mention. This Vette has some SVRA racing history mostly at Watkins Glen in its early years according to the previous owner. This is a numbers matching, Four Speed manual convertible C3 Corvette that has some issues, but it checks all the right boxes regarding options and desirability. Overall this is a driver quality example of one the most iconic versions of the legendary Chevrolet Corvette that needs some TLC to be brought back to its former glory. Sold for $16,500. February 1, 2016.
